"The Unicorn Fountain"
"The Unicorn Fountain" is set in the mythical village of Eudora during its annual Seed Time Festival. Because the Unicorn has visited the village during the festival everyone rejoices that the coming harvest will be the greatest ever. The Unicorn returns to the mountains to drink from the fountain in a secret place beneath the rainbow. Then Frederick, Prince of the kingdom awards the medal of merit to the Charity, the most deserving maiden in the village. A jealous maiden, Dahlia, becomes furious and commands her father¡¯s magical marionettes to pursue and trap the Unicorn, who Charity loves. When Charity sees a dream vision of the trapped Unicorn she determines to go through the forest and rescue the Unicorn. All of Dahlia¡¯s fury and magic are not enough to keep Charity from her beloved Unicorn. (The outcome is a moral of triumph over adversity.)
